Periodontics

Healthy gums go hand in hand with healthy teeth to create good oral health. The CDC, or Centers for Disease Control, states that as many as 50 percent of Americans who are over 30 have gum disease in varying stages. Gum disease is also called periodontal disease, and gingivitis in the early stages of the disease. Symptoms include swollen, inflamed gums that may bleed during brushing or flossing, and it’s the leading cause of tooth loss among adults. This is unfortunate because gingivitis and its associated tooth loss is completely preventable, and the damage is reversible when caught at an early stage. If you experience any of these symptoms, call Dental One Associates of Frederick and we may be able to help you save your teeth.
